Here are my dirty brushes & sponges….in my defense we just got back from vacation so they’ve gone a little longer than usual for a cleaning. You will also need a small dish with plain dish soap, and a bumpy rubber hot pad. Wal-Mart has these had pads hanging in the isles by the cleaning supplies for about $1.

To start turn your water on warm and stick your hot pad into your sink. If you push it down, it will suction which is convenient.

Get your brush nice and wet.

Stick it in the soap.

Scrub on your hot pad. Move it around in circle motions and back and forth.

And rinse. Squeeze the water out and rinse again and again if needed until the water runs clean. You can always go back and scrub on the hot pad, sometimes the dense brushes take a second scrubbing. Squeeze the excess water out and lay on a towel to dry.

Now for the beauty blender. Get it very wet. Run it under the water, squeeze it a few times so it gets wet all the way through. Squeeze once to get the excess water out. Hold it closed.

Stick it into the soap dish and let it absorb the soap.

Then start scrubbing. The beauty blenders will take the most work. Usually I rinse and repeat three times. Once you get the makeup out of it continually squeeze and absorb water to rinse out the soap. Give it a good squeeze and lay it on the towel to dry.

    1. This method makes it so much easier. Takes me less than 5 minutes to clean my usual brushes. Even with all my eye brushes its still super quick!
