When we moved into our house I really disliked the kitchen and breakfast nook tile floor. Actually I despised it. It just isn’t my style plus the grout was SO stained. Being in the kitchen it is inevitable that your grout gets icky, lots of foot traffic, cooking messes, crumbs from the kiddos eating, it’s just a part of life. But that doesn’t make it any better. I had to get the grout clean. First I tried a magic eraser and floor soap. no luck. Baking soda and finger paste, a little better but nowhere near clean. But then I tried this and it worked like freaking magic.
Here’s a nice close up of the gross. Sorry folks but I need you to really get with me on the gross factor.
Toilet cleaner. I know you’re like seriously Ashley? Have you lost it? Nope, totally sane here. Get this one, it has bleach in it and the wide dispensing tip which fits perfectly into the grout lines.
Squirt the cleaner into the grout lines. I worked in 4 x 2 sections to keep it manageable. With it being a gel it doesn’t run everywhere. Let it sit for 3-5 minutes.
Grab a paper towel and wipe away. And then have a heart attack.
Look at the difference!
After I did half of my kitchen I grabbed the sponge mop and gave the floor a quick clean. I was amazed. I wanted to do a dance. I pretty sure I did…..
And there you have it. The easiest way to get your grout looking like new.
Let me know your favorite cleaning hacks! I’m a bit OCD….
